12/27/07 - A Legend Retires.
Modelers realize well that there are people within the hobby industry
who really make a difference; those who contribute years to the creative
side because the passion to create burns within their soul.. Some such as
Bob Reder of Monogram, Lew Glaser of Revell, George Toteff of MPC are
typical of those luminaries. Accurate Miniatures received an
email that Pasquale Chiapperino has decided to retire and place his
company in the capable hands of his nephew and brother. The company
is well-known to the modeling community as Cartograf and no matter how good
or bad a kit may be, good decals can make the difference.
Without question, no other company that transforms something as simple
as clear lacquer overprinted with colored ink and overcoated with another
coat of clear into a work of art is as well known for their creations as
Cartograf.
Pasquale, you will be missed, but we expect you will check in on the staff
occasionally.
12/11/07 - The retail price of our 2 display bases, the Pierced Steel Planking Display Base and the WWII Carrier Deck Display Base has been reduced to $17.99.
12/07/07 - An article on McClelland Barclay, one of the best-known and highest-paid commercial artists in the United States of his era has been posted here. He volunteered to become a combat artist during WWII and painting schemes he developed were used in deciding official painting scheme,s for some US aircraft of that time period.
